Default BrAsh unlikely to turn pro

    from ESPN

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona's Brandon Ashley says the season-ending foot injury he suffered on Saturday in a loss to Cal likely will mean he will return for the next school year.

"I wasn't 100 percent (about coming back) before the injury," Ashley told ESPN.com. "But I've thought about it, and there's a very, very, very strong chance I'll be back at the University of Arizona next year."

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound Ashley suffered the injury early in Arizona's first loss of the season Saturday at California. He was averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds this season.

Several NBA executives told ESPN.com that Ashley is projected as a late first-round or early second-round pick.

Arizona is expected to lose freshman Aaron Gordon early to the NBA, but the Wildcats could return a core of current starters Nick Johnson, T.J. McConnell, Kaleb Tarczewski and freshman Rondae Hollis-Jefferson -- who has replaced Ashley in the starting lineup.

Coach Sean Miller will also add McDonald's All-American Stanley Johnson and top-50 recruit Craig Victor.

Funny comparison considering the fact that the two players are polar opposites. AG is a team-player and knows that he'll get drafted based on his athleticism, effort, and attitude...not his ability to jack up 17-foot contested jumpers.

To say nothing of the fact that AG is universally praised for his attitude and work ethic, and Williams was a complete headcase.

If it was a really bad break like some reports state, then he's going to come back.

What about super stud point guard PJC and a pretty good Juco transfer as well. Come one!

    Damn that's harsh yo!

Gordons draft stock isn't as good as it could be based on what miller is telling us about his FT shooting in practice, dude needs to work on his nerves.

Wise move if he does indeed choose to stay. Foot injuries on big men take time to heal and can be reinjured easily unless well cared for. The GM's know it, and clearly BA handlers do also. I just hope heals completely and has a great shot at a long and productive NBA career.
