Rondae will start. Zach Peters wont play.
All these have already been said in the private forum. Miller just made them public.
Let's get it on!
Is Peters just not any good or is he in the doghouse for something?
Jeez, Peters must really suck if he isnt gonna even sniff the floor.
Gary Franklin is dirty garbage. Thats what Catbus says.
I appreciated the finality of "Rondae will start." with all of the rumors out there. We are in a time of change and now we have a little clarity. Maybe it seems obvious, but there are lots of ways a coach could have gone with this situation: Small ball, keep the spark plug on the bench, etc.
and why did miller take peters??

Was hoping id see gabe yorks name
Miller seems to be empathetic towards peters situation, said he's missed a lot of things because he's working towards getting healthy, said he's been healthy for a little while now, but hasnt been in the swing of things of a full program since high school

When Zeus was out for two games after the MI game with his sprained ankle, Rondae got the start and did just fine. He had 8 pts and 8 rbs in the Southern game and 14 pts and 8 rbs in the NAU game. Granted, the rest of these games will be against tougher opponents, but I think he's a kid who will be up to the task and give it his best shot. And really, that's all we can ask for.
I always think we're gonna' win
Well, if Gabe is really good and deserving a shot at major minutes on the big stage, now is the time to prove it to everyone.
Call me sexy arty.
Rondae seems to play better on bigger stages. His stretch of ho-hum games came during a rather uninspired portion of the schedule. I'm completely confident he's going to step it up big time, as he was starting to get back to where he was at the beginning of the season after he had clearly hit the proverbial freshman wall. Having a larger role should help kick-start him to the next level. If I have any "worry" about RHJ, it's that he's going to play himself into the lottery over the next several weeks.
But now Gabe has to dig deep and figure out whether he's got what it takes to live up to the hype. He was considered one of the best shooters in his recruiting class, but he hasn't shown he can consistently make shots at this level. He's going to get a legit opportunity now. If he continues to take 4 shots in 20 minutes (as he did against Cal), that's on him. He needs to be aggressive and find ways to score both inside and out. He should be getting even more open looks as teams continue to pack the lane to keep AG and RHJ from dunking all night.
An attitude problem is the toughest thing to fix, if it doesn't come around let the kid go elsewhere...want him to succeed and help this club, but not at the expense of any other player willing and deserving of his scholorship
From what I have seen, Rondae's jumper is closer to Brandon than it is to Aaron. It is way better than he gets credit for. Hell I am pretty certain I saw him make a back to the basket midrange fade away on the baseline against Cal. That is a NBA shot.
Put it this way... Rondae's shot has gotten better this season. He doesn't throw up a couple air balls each game. And he puts the ball on the glass with the expectation it will go in three first time.
Rondae is going to save our season.

RHJ will be a solid starter. But, there is no way that AG is going to be a lottery pick. He is dropping down on the boards because of his inability to shoot a jumper. Great kid who needs more time to develop. I also agree that York needs to step it up and take those open shots and create more opportunity for himself. We are probably not going to see much more man to man, so we need York to make them pay for playing zone.
AG is as gone as gone can be. And watching Brandon Ashley destroy his foot would have erased even the tiniest doubt or consideration he may have had with regards to coming back.

Don't kid yourself into thinking AG is the only frosh with some warts. The only underclassmen right now I would be amazed didn't get drafted before AG are Parker, Embiid, and Smart. After that, crapshoot.
If RHJ blows up, wins Arizona a conference title, gets them a #1 seed and to a Final Four, then I am all for him going pro after this season.
Let's see it happen, Rondae.
