Wilbur So I Have This Theory..

So I have this theory that when teams play ASU before they play us, they are just looking ahead to playing us. The teams play sloppy and unfocused which leads me to believe they are more excited for their game against us, a team that can make their season. Against Utah and Cal, ASU just dominated which I dont really understand because i believe those teams are far superior to them. I dont know if this means anything but Ive thought this the past couple years and wanted some of your input.

Look at performance against the spread in these games to see if ASU overachieves/their opponents underachieve. That's the first stat thread that I'd pull.

A win against Arizona can make any bubble team's resume, so yes obviously they're more geeked up to play us than they are ASU.

Utah had that game, but played like crap down the stretch.

This was definitely true during our dominant Lute years when ASU was a bottom feeder. Not as true during the transition, but it looks like Miller has us back to form. ASU isn't as bad this year as they looked against us though.

Yeah obviously teams are excited to play us but i believe asu looks as if they are improving when really it is us who is improving and all the other teams play horrible against ASU when they are looking ahead to us. I think ASU is very lucky they are our conference partner
