Hopefully the Thunder are working the deal and sign him.
Looks like he's still not signed...
I'm really starting to have my doubts that we see him on an NBA roster this season. Hopefully he can get something done and make some plays in the preseason and earn a bench spot, but it's looking more and more like Grant is headed for the D-League or overseas.
Thunder Sign Diante Garrett, Rodney McGruder: Hoops Rumors
Doesn't even look like he's going to camp with OKC
I really hate being right in this case. Grant making an NBA roster is good for Arizona, whether he cares about U of A or not.
Ugh! Really? Grumble, grumble, grumble
Is anybody really surprised? He never really showed any kind of drive when he was at Arizona, he's like a log in a lake, you know he's there and you know you have to keep an eye on him because he can do a little damage if you don't, but overall he has little affect on anything. He should have stayed at Arizona and improved his skills and his mind set.
Not sure who is a worse advisor Grant Jerrett's agent or Angelo Chol's high school coach?
He made a huge mistake leaving as early as he did. Had he stayed and developed for 2-3 years and he could've been a mid to late first rounder and would've been better prepared for the league.
Add him to the list of hyped up disappointments for this program
I still think that the way this situation played itself out was a bad way to mess up a kid's life.
I really hope Jerrett can get a contract and land on an NBA team.
This year could have been his year to shine with his outside shot and defensive ability after being in the program for another summer to workout and add some more weight to his frame.
It's just unfortunate. But, I'm hoping Bibby and Walton can catch on with a team. Looks like Bibby had a good chance of making the Spurs roster if he didn't get injured
you mean the guy that averaged 5 pts and 3 boards in college wasn't ready for the NBA?!?!? I'm so shocked... /sarcasm
I thought Grant felt minutes would be tough to get this year especially with Aaron Gordon coming. He didn't want to transfer and lose a year so he left for the pros. This obviously was a terrible choice if minutes would be tough to get at Arizona they are damn near impossible to get on a NBA team. He got bad advice and he has to suffer the consequences for it. Granted he can make some decent money only problem is he has to go play in a foreign country far far away from home to do it.
Maybe he needs a better agent?
sometimes life's greatest lessons are learned the hard way...
Gordon/Ashley/Jerrett/Zeus would have each avg about 18-22 minutes/game and they all would have their own niche and been a factor to this team and would have placed whoever decided to stay on some preseason watch lists heading into their junior year.
Unfortunately we don't have Jerrett/Chol and only have Peters who seems to be a coin flip on whether or not he would be able to produce.
Maybe it would turn out for the best for Arizona but Jerrett definitely got burned on this decision..
Freshman - If you're lottery you go
Sophomore - If you're 1st round you go
Junior - If coming back can only hurt your draft stock you go
Isaiah Thomas left for the right season, Grant Jerrett did not. Also Gaddy was on UW's roster while Thomas was there.
In reference to Grant Jerrett, Eric Cooper Sr. is a professional at ****ing up people's careers, well done EC.
Jerrett was going to be a future 1st round pick and possible lottery pick.
To go from impact role player on one of the best teams in the country and possibly play a bigger role the following season to declaring too early for the NBA draft, becoming a 2nd round pick and not even getting a deal?
You can throw his name in there with several other players that left school early because of bad advice.
I just hope Jerrett doesn't end of a permanent bench player like Patrick Ewing Jr. and others that have left too early.
Was on a Georgetown team that would have allowed him to grow and develop his game without being THE guy and yet he bolted after his freshman year.
When I seen he got drafted it was simply based on his name alone and not his talent.
I dont know whether to feel bad for him or laugh my ass off.
