Arizona basketball: Cats win 'wars' and battle with Fla.
"The stops: Suddenly, with the help of Arizona's pressure defense - one that Hill said the Wildcats never practiced - the Gators' offenses began to unravel."Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat! They never practice pressure defense? The good news is the guys just did it. But why isn't it a part of their repertoire?
On the one hand we know that Miller isn't just winging it, he has a goal and a plan to achieve that goal. However, he's unlikely to be entirely closed minded and it's likely that he will weigh the results of that short spurt of inbounds pressure against what he considers tradeoffs for expending the extra energy to press.
This team is conditioned well and so he may choose to pick his spots and press teams or he may decide that it isn't worth getting away from the structure already set in place. Regardless of his decision in this regard, I trust that he knows what he's doing and has intelligently analyzed this option.
That's not to say he is infallible and never makes mistakes but it is to say that he is thorough, knowledgable and has a track record of success and probably has a better feel for his personnel than any one of us fans could possibly have.
This question is discussed and probably answered in the Full Court Press thread.
