It's a bigtime topic right now, and it should be. I am conflicted on this one, and don't have an opinion one way or the other, yet. Really is a complicated issue for fans of NCAA sports, IMO
Jay Bilas absolutely wrecked the NCAA this week, enough to make them change the main search function in their online store. That guy, even though a Dookie, has been waiving this flag high for a long time - and that much at the very least is commendable.
So, it seems there is some moral obligation to pay these kids for what they earn (obviously a small percentage, but that's typical to any business). The question is what is the best method of doing this, without ruining the current dynamic of 'amateur athletics' that is barely hanging on? On top of that, there is this pesky Title 9 thing, that promotes equality through inequality, but I digress.
This topic is so big, SCOTUS is currently debating this subject, and I am interested to see what the opinions have to say.
Anyway, I am wondering what the brains of this site have to say on the subject.
