ASU football's Dennis Erickson will be fired
Dennis Erickson is out as ASU football coach, and the end might come Monday.

According to sources, Vice President of Athletics Lisa Love plans to meet with the coach Monday morning, when he will be relieved of his duties. It's possible Erickson could leave on his own terms as part of a negotiated retirement, but Erickson has given no recent indication that he wants to quit coaching.
Erickson, 64, went 31-30 over five years at ASU, leading the Sun Devils to the 2007 Holiday Bowl. With six wins, ASU is eligible for a bowl this season, but it's not clear if Erickson will coach the team.
The Sun Devils began this season with great expectation. They returned 15 players who had started at least one game the previous season on defense and 12 who had done so on offense. They started 6-2, but collapsed over the back half of their schedule, losing four in a row to finish 6-6 overall and 4-5 in the Pac-12.
Their bowl destination is not yet known, but teams that go winless in November usually aren't attractive options. Possibilities include the Hyundai Sun Bowl in El Paso, the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl and the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco.
Erickson is under contract at ASU through Jan. 15, 2013. According to his contract, if Erickson breaks the contract and takes another NCAA Div. I or professional job, he will owe ASU $750,000.
If ASU fires Erickson, the coach will receive half of his $1.5 million annual salary for the remainder of the contract's term.
Arizona State: Kevin Sumlin will get a look; but it won't surprise us if June Jones winds up with this job.
June Jones is a good guy and I respect him as a coach. I would prefer he not end up at ASU where I will have to dislike him!
That's how I felt about Sumlin. I wish they landed Leach...
