  • Angelo Chol Nearing End of Recruitment

Angelo Chol is nearing a decision on where he will attend college, but still plans on announcing to the public during his scheduled February 17th press conference.

Chol will meet with his coach, Ollie Goulston, after their game for the league title and the two will sit down and discuss where Chol wants to go.

PGU caught up with Chol's coach earlier today.

"It won't be one factor but a combination of factors that we discuss when we choose where he's going," Goulston said. "Angelo was open to them and a couple of other schools he kind of dropped. Arizona has done a very good job. Book Richardson and Sean Miller have done a great job of making up ground and building a relationship with Angelo."

The press conference will be broadcast kbcsports.com for anyone to watch at 12:45pm pacific time on Thursday. Though Chol may decide before then, no coach will be informed of a commitment until 10 minutes before the press conference.

"I wanted him to take all the information in and really do this the right way," Goulston said, "and look at the positives and negatives of every situation as it relates to him."

PGU has also learned that Chol may publicly eliminate two schools tonight. The teams still in contention are Arizona, Washington, Kansas, North Carolina, and Alabama.

"I don't think a kid with the character of Angelo and the work ethic that he has, can go wrong," Goulston said. "I think he'll have a good career at any of the five that he picks."

Goulston said that he didn't know which school Chol was favoring and that he wouldn't know until he met with him later today. Goulston did not accompany Chol on his latest trip to Washington because he was in Cabo San Lucas with his girlfriend.

"I really have wanted to stay true to the process and not let him get caught up in the emotion," Goulston said. "Every trip is good and I can see where kids commit after trips because they're all positive. Who knows, if you let him commit after every trip, you'd probably have five commitments by now."

Goulston wouldn't give any indication about which schools might be in the lead, but he did say that Chol may have the closest relationship with Washington's Lorenzo Romar.

Chol could be the determining factor in Arizona making the Final Four next year.

Hopefully he will read the SI article about D-Will. "Efficiency" made him an effective player that will undoubtedly become a lottery pick. Miller & Co taugh Derrick that getting to the line & taking smart shots are more important than trying to become a star.

AC will be a star - just like D-Will - if he comes to Tucson!

I definitely assumed that D-Will would return when I said that they'd be a Final-Four team. Even if Chol commits, and D-Will leaves...I think that the Cats would have enough talent to make the Sweet 16. AC, Perry, Sidiki, and Kyryl still provide a lot of depth int he frontcourt.

all the twitter folks in the recruiting thread about chold should be sure to read this..
there was speculation about a recruit and Ace goes out and makes an article about it..
there is no other fan site in the country better than PGU..
i will definitely be tuning in to his commitment on the web..
goodluck to you angelo in whatever school you choose..
you're fortunate to be in the sitaution you're in and i'll be a fan no matter what school you go to..

I'll trust PGU until they give me a reason not to. They said Chol will be a Wildcat so lets see what happens. Chol may have the closest relationship with the UW head coach but he also has a close friend heading to UofA on a football scholarship.

No reason not to give PGU the benefit of the doubt because of twitter!

I can see the sweet 16 if he leaves but man, imagine if he pulls a budinger. This team will be an immovable object.

Sounds like Chol is lucky to have someone with their head on straight like Goulston to help guide him through this process. Seems like it is down to UW and us, and frankly he cant really go wrong there. Of course in my biased opinion Arizona is easily the best choice to make.

      Ace,

I know that I do not post ever, but I need to ask question? I can't read any of the comments, and wonder how that could be fixed?

Understand, even though I never post, I read EVERYTHING on this site. I visit every day (10 times probably) and read the incrediable FREE information from the site seers and this wonderful group I follow along with. PGU is without rival. I remember something about other so called Arizona Basketbal lsites but I do not visit them any more.

Please help sirs. I apologized if this was the wrong forum to address my selfish issue.

Take it for what its worth, but Kansas and North Carolina basketball message boards have barely a blip if anything about Angelo Chol. As far as the Arizona message boards, Angelo Chol is our #1 topic right now. Ace has spoken, but if you aren't a believer all you have to do is read between the lines.............. He is down to 3 schools, 1 fan base is excited and the other 2 are talking about other people. Go Cats.

Kbcsports.com is a horrible media website and it has zero information regarding the live stream of Chol's recruitment...
